Ilse Pluimers signs with NXTG RacingTweet Share on Facebook
Ilse Pluimers (Netherlands) turns pro with NXTG Racing in 2021. The 2019 European junior road race champion signs a contract for two years with the only U23 UCI women’s development team.
This is a team where I get the opportunity to continue my development as a rider. My time at the APB Development Team has been really nice with that European title as highlight. I hope to continue my development with NXTG Racing. The step up to the elite ranks will be big but I am looking forward to the challenge.
Pluimers, who is 18 years young, won the European Championship in 2019 in Alkmaar after a bold solo. She also has two silver medals from the Dutch national championships: in 2019 in the road race and this year in the time trial.
I look forward to the Classics first and foremost next year. I like hard races. There are some really big races NXTG Racing gets to ride. I
also hope to ride Strade Bianche and the Giro Rosa one day.
Sports director Kelvin Dekker is pleased to continue working with Pluimers.
It’s great to see another junior rider join the UCI team after two years on our APB Junior Development Team. Ilse has shown her talent already on several occasions. We will continue to build on that and are confident she will continue to grow.
NXTG Racing will announce its fifth and last new signing next week. Mylène de Zoete (NED), Amelia Sharpe (GBR) and Maud Rijnbeek (NED) (from our junior women’s APB development team like Ilse Pluimers,) were already announced for the 2021 team.
