Sunday’s Belgian time trial championships in Gavere became a big success for Britt Knaven. She is the new U23 champion. Her sister Senne finished fifth.

The Belgian time trial title was an important moment for Britt because after a difficult start to the season this was one of her goals.

“It went really well. I managed to get a good rhythm early on in the race and could pace myself throughout the course evenly. This was the kind of hard course where you could easily go too fast in the beginning but I could even go faster in the second half. There are a few things to work on but in general I am really happy.

I will also focus on the elite Belgian time trial championships later this year but first I want to race to get that endurance and race toughness again. This summer there are a few great stage races to look forward to.”

Julia Borgström took part in the Gracia Orlova stage in race in the Czech Republic with the Swedish national team. She finished in the top seven of three of the four stages and became fifth in the overall classification. Julia is now off to Bretagne for the Bretagne Ladies Tour stages race together with Ilse, Maud, Lone, Maureen and Ally.
